sketchkid: I understand that you're all very busy with stuff, but could you at least tell us why you haven't updated in a while?
Alright, I’ll be perfectly honest with you.
Yes, the majority of us are busy with school/college, various jobs, personal issues that demand most of our time and attention, etc etc. However, we also have a slightly more selfish reason for not tending to this blog as much as we should.
This is a confessions blog. Hence the name “Fallout Confessions”. It’s not “Fallout Fanfics” or “Fallout Tales of Woe Around the Wasteland” or “Fallout Comments About How You Bought The Game Last Weekend”. It’s most certainly not “Fallout Fandom’s Place To Beat Each Other Down”.
That being said, this place rarely keeps with the intended theme anymore. In fact, it hasn’t done so for months. We promised to publish anything and everything (except the painfully stupid ones, which Loon and I — wherever he may be; I haven’t seen him on Steam in months — delete), and people seem to have taken that to heart. Half the confessions we receive are a slightly more literate version of “OMGGGZ I LOVE MY BOIFREND CUZ HE BOUGHT ME FALLOUT 3 OMFG <333!!!1!!1!”
We rarely receive actual confessions nowadays. Instead of stating an opinon, they throw some horribly obscure story with absolutely no indication of what sort of picture we could provide. Sure, it might have some correlation to the game, but it reads more like a diary entry than an actual confession. I’ve discussed it with some of the other mods, and they all agree with me.
That being said, I honestly think people have run out of genuine things to confess. Considering how many posts we have (this one will mark 5,500), it’s a safe bet to say that every single word that could potentially be spoken about the few characters that the fandom seems to care about has been said. I’m fairly sure there are 40+ variations of “AAAHHH BOONE IS SO HOT; I’D LIKE TO SEE HIS SNIPER RIFLE, IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN HUEUHEUHUEUHUE” floating around.
In short, this blog has lost its drive. It’s more of a personal ranting blog than an actual confessions blog. Whether it was through our sub-par submission guidelines/expectations/rules, or— … no, actually, that was pretty much it. Well, you see what it’s become.
tl;dr — I suck, I’m a horrible person, etc. I’m sorry. I truly am. But everyone gets tired of the same old thing. A lot of the other mods have disappeared, and I have no idea where they went, but I know they’d feel the same.

My two cents: I shall also state that it’s also hard to find motivation during the down time of our busy lives to log on here and find that there are 75+ ‘confessions’ in the inbox. A task that seems extraordinarily daunting when you realize that you may be or are the only active mod on the blog at a given time. It’s not as simple as just throwing some text on an image. [I mean, it could be but I would venture to guess that our followers would be slightly less pleased by the quality of the blog.] I haven’t disappeared, I am very grateful to the admins of this blog for letting me be part of this. I hope to be able to contribute more to this blog in the near future.

… I’ve been without internet for three months (I am alive, just slightly), just got it back within the last week, and it’s also like Cybbie says here. I’ve been looking through the asks whenever I’ve logged on, and it’s extremely non-motivating to keep looking at the same kinds of confessions we’ve seen throughout our times being a mod on here.
